Tata sky adding subscription packs fraudulently to inflate bills

Tata Sky is the direct to home cable service by the reputed Tata Group in India. Recently i observed that for my parents' Tata Sky account in Bihar, the bills were appearing inflated. When I logged in, I saw two packages (Active Javed Akhtar, and Ten) added to the base package at an extra cost of Rs. 120. This was a 25% inflation to the base pack.

It is a very well recognized fraud in India that Telecom companies would add value-add services to non-suspecting customers and charge them for services that they never asked for. Such a fraud occurs most with uneducated and most vulnerable subscribers such as daily wagers, or with elderly citizens less aware of the technology and my gut suggests it happens more in the less progressive states such as Bihar, UP.

When i tried to raise this through an email to Tata Sky, i could not locate an email address on their website. The "contact us" form has been filled by me but i have not received any acknowledgment for the same on the registered mobile phone or email address and this makes me doubtful if they would reach out and try to resolve the issue and refund the amount.

Most often than not, such dubious activities are undertaken by channel partners. However, i believe the onus of selecting the right channel partners rests with the brand.
